There are a host of exciting and rewarding places to visit locally, providing a break from the walk and stalk and an alternative to the amenities on the farm for the non hunters amongst your party.
The Addo National Elephant Park and Big Five Game Reserve
The Addo National Elephant Park was established in 1931 to protect the last 11 wild elephants in the area from extermination. Today more than 350 elephants roam through an area that is so diverse that no matter how many times you experience it, its magic will never fail to captivate you. On a good day, Addo Elephant National Park offers the greatest elephant spectacle on earth. The park also offers excellent viewing of black rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard, as well as a host of other large and small mammals and over 400 species of birds in the greater park area.
The Cheetah Ranch
The Cheetah Rearing Ranch provides visitors with a unique opportunity to sit with, stroke and for the very brave be licked by both cubs and fully-grown cheetahs. There is a serious side to the cheetah farm as it actively seeks to re-introduce cheetahs back to the wild.

A view once only seen by the many exotic birds of the indigenous forest. At each platform spend a few minutes relaxing as your guide enthusiastically explains the ecology of the forest around you. Pointing out magnificent giant ferns and the many different exotic trees. About three hours later you emerge from the forest having undertaken a rare journey of a life time. An unusual experience which will never be forgotten!

The ranch is staffed by friendly and informative guides and is a must for the animal lover who wants to learn more. Here, you can also see the Tiger, Kalahari Lions and many other species. Children will be entranced by the lion cubs and may even be able to enjoy a “hands on” experience at the discretion of the guides.
